Greetings colleagues,
This Saturday your Olympic City Chapter will meet in person at 1120 N Circle Drive. The meeting will take place from 10b until 11:30. President Jeanette says that after the meeting members and friends should head over to Chili's 5807 N Academy.
The Downtown chapter will meet this coming Tuesday evening at 6 pm. We encourage our members to bring guests. Let's find every blind/low vision we know. Many of us will gather around 5 or 5:30 and grab some food from one of Avenue 19's tasty food choices. The meeting will adjourn around 7 and no later than 7:15.
We hope that some of our Colorado Springs neighbors will join us for the Haymakers String Band concert. It's a benefit for the National Federation of the Blind of Colorado. Tickets are only $25 for this amazing Bluegrass band out of Wichita. They are very well known throughout national bluegrass/newgrass circles. They played Colorado Springs many times at Front Range BBQ and if you can't make the benefit in Littleton? You can hear them live on Saturday the 27th. They headline the Flower Festival at Venetucci Farms. Please contact me if you have questions about Haymaker's concert or chapter meetings.
Downtown and Olympic City chapters are co-sponsoring a summer picnic on August 10th at Thorndale Park, 2310 W Uintah. It will be from 11 am until people decide to leave. If you have ideas for activities? Bring your ideas. Beep ball? Kick ball? Red rover? Tug a war? Checkers? Cards? Hot dog eating contest? This is not only great fun. It's a great way to invite members to have fun with us and learn about what the National Federation of the Blind is all about. Jeanette is suggesting that we do a potluck of side dishes from folks who would like to bring. I think I can get the meat and additional fixings so no worries there folks.
By the way, you can buy Haymakers tickets on Eventbrite. Please circulate the above messages to our community.
At your service,

Manager Project Literacy, National Federation of the Blind of Colorado
The National Federation of the Blind is a community of members and friends who believe in the hopes and dreams of the nation's blind. Every day we work together to help blind people live the lives they want.
Colorado Center for the Blind believes when you believe in yourself and experience a thriving community of positive blind people, nothing can hold you back from pursuing your dreams.
