Hello All:
I want to highly recommend a new book on BARD. Actually, it is an old book,
recorded by the Colorado Talking Book Library about 1990 and re-released
last week. It is an easy, short read, but well worth it.
The book is "So The Blind Can See" by Kay Haraway.
Kay was a braille transcriber for the Denver Red Cross for decades. She
wrote about her experiences as a transcriber, what she learned, and the
people she met. Although there is no evidence that Kay joined the Colorado
Federation of the Blind, she had a close relationship with our organization
and many of its members. She wrote a short chapter on several of our past
members.
The book highlights how easy, compared to today, to get material brailled
through the Red Cross.
Please download Kay Haraway's book and give it a read.
