Hi all -

Thank you all for your efforts. This is collective action at work! SB24-153
not only passed out of the Senate Appropriations committee this morning,
but it made it to the Senate floor for the 2nd reading. The 3rd reading is
yet to come, and that is the final vote before the bill is then transmitted
to the House.

Once introduced in the House (1st reading), it will go to its first
committee before it gets to the House Appropriations Committee. It has to
make it through both of these committees before it gets to the House floor
for the final vote.

And this all has to happen bby the end of the day on May 8. We've already
sent out a letter to the 65 members of the House reminding them that this
was one of the bills we asked them to support way back on February 12 when
we all tromped across the Capitol with our legislative memorandum. But of
course, we will also ask you to contact committee members assoon as we have
that. So, stand by!

Dan
