Subject: NOCO Humane
Hello Mr Worley,
My name is Joan Raabe, and I am a Volunteer Humane Educator at NOCO Humane. We are located at 3501 E 71st Street, Loveland CO 80538.
Each summer, we put on multiple sessions of a week-long Critter Camp, which is a kids' camp that covers a variety of animal related topics. We strongly believe that animal welfare tomorrow begins with education today. These camps are designed to provide our youth with experiential learning, hands-on activities, and engaging lesson plans, all in the world of animal welfare, and our beloved pets.
This year, we would like to highlight working animals. One of the first things kids think of when thinking about working animals is service animals. I'm reaching out today to see if you know of someone with a guide dog who might be willing to come speak to our campers.
Our camps will be held on these weeks:
* June 17-21 (for kids who have completed K or 1st Grade)
* July 15-19 (for kids who have completed 2nd or 3rd Grade)
* August 5-9 (for kids who have completed 4th or 5th Grade)
Currently, we have the following time frames blocked off for "working animals" for our June session:
* 6/19 - 12:40-1 pm
* 6/20 - 9:45-10:15 am
* 6/21 - anytime
That being said, we are flexible on times and days for a visit! Each day, during the weekdays listed above, the camp runs from 9:15am - 1pm.
We are able to add an additional 15 minutes for each time frame if needed.
It would be great if someone could come to each week of camp, but any participation is appreciated.
We would like this person to speak about the training their dog went through to become a guide dog, how having a guide dog has changed their life, and the do's and don'ts when you see a service dog. If possible it would be nice if the kids could greet the dog.
Please feel free to email, call or text me about our request.
Thanks so much for your consideration!
Take care, Joan
