[Colorado-Talk] Frivolous ADA lawsuits

Greetings -
"I wish Scott LaBarre was with us to answer this."

This is one of those moments that I think, "I wish Scott LaBarre was here
to answer this one."

That is because Scott, as an attorney and active in the American Bar
Association, was pretty well-infomred about these thingswhen, a few years
back, there was a legislative effort to gut the ADA.

Yes, these kind of suits have haplpened. They have also occurred with
respect to physical access in the past. Are they widespread? It doesn't
seem so. In fact, I recall Scott saying that these kinds of suits were
limited to a very small number of attorneys and that the bar association
had and will sanction those lawyers.

Now, of course this answer relies on my less-than-faulty memory and I'm not
versed in what is happening in 2024. However, if businesses find themselves
being sued in these frivolous suits, I would recommend they contact the
Colorado Bar Association or the American Bar Association.

HTH
