Sharla has 20 years of experience working with patients, advocates, grassroots leaders and legislators advocating for accessible prescription labeling for patients who are blind, visually impaired and limited English proficient.

Prior to working in accessibility she earned a Masters in Pastoral Ministry from St. John's University, Collegeville, MN and served as director of faith formation and in marriage and family life ministries. She has lived experience navigating the healthcare system having six children with autoimmune diseases.
