Hello community,

I just met with Maryann and the Boulder dinner crowd last Wednesday at Cracovia in Westminster.

She asked me to share these links with everybody.

First off, let me tell you the story behind the first several links.

Philip and Mary of the two blind mice show, Are promoting the idea of LED bracelets.

Philip and Mary went on a cruise last year along with a large group of other blind/Low Vision, friends and family.
They told the cruise company ahead of time, that they would have flashing LED bracelets with them.
And if a staff member saw a flashing bracelet, assistance would be required.

It worked for them!

At the dinner table during the cruise, it let waiters know when they needed something and helped avoid unnecessary hovering.

Philip and Mary also said that at one point they had left the dining room, and got turned around.
They held still, turned on the bracelets. And within a couple minutes, a staff member said how may I help you, and got them where they needed to go.

So below, are three different links to various products that I have found at Amazon.
The first is an LED slap bracelet that is rechargeable and primarily used as safety bands for joggers, walkers, etc.

Two bracelets for $10.
Pros, they have a fast blink, slow blink and a solid.
Come various colors.
Like we care…
Cons:
Has a single button, that you push and cycle through the various modes.
No way to know which mode it is without vision or some other piece of technology to do light sensing.

Xeiophoy 2 PCS LED Armband... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CRZ9GPGY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Link number two, is a six pack of LED slap bracelets.
These are button battery operated, not rechargeable.
But you can easily replace the button battery.

Again this is a six pack of bracelets, for $10.
They are individually Six different colors.
Not six colors on the same bracelet, but six different colored bracelets.

Again, the downside of this one is a single button that cycles through the modes.

Esonstyle 6 Pack LED Light Up... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014D4GAN4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Lastly, the third link is for some cheesy little children’s bracelets.
This is a solid bracelet, with a single LED light.
It is not meant for Safety, just more as a novelty.
But it gets the job done at a restaurant.
We were at Cracovia, we were able to turn on the bracelet and draw the attention of the waiter.

The most important and positive feature of this bracelet is the single, simple on/off switch that is flashing when on!

The con is it is difficult to replace the small button batteries.

This link is for a great big multi pack of these things, but it made them very inexpensive.(35 cents a bracelet)

Other items of interest:

Purse holders!
These are little discs, with a hook that wraps around the outside of the disc when not in use. For storage in your purse, pocket, or bag.
You unwind the hook from the disc, set the disc on a table with the hook hanging directly beneath the disc hugging the edge of the table.
You can then place your backpack, purse, or white cane on the hook.
Keeping these items up off the floor, and off the table.
Right next to you, so you know where they are.
Not hanging off the back of a chair.
This works great for folding canes.
Most of this community using your rigid canes maybe doesn’t apply.
But you may still like these things for your backpacks or purses.

And then finally, is carabiners.

Again this is a multi pack to share with your friends.

Hope these things are helpful, and have an awesome day.
