Good day everyone,

 

As we head towards the spring season, I am considering arranging some day trips for the visually Impaired and Blind members here in the Denver Metro area and surrounds. This will take a lot of work and research on my behalf and I am not willing to waste time so I request that anyone who has any interest in doing such trips. Please respond to this message.

Here is a little bit of my initial thought process regarding this. When it gets a little cooler, it would be great that we were able to take organized day trips out to various locations around the Denver Metro area and beyond. I was thinking of places like Esther's Park where we could walk the towns Main Street sit by a river, stop for coffee, explore restaurants and whatever else there is to see. This is not the only place. I am just using it as an example. Additionally, we could organize events while the weather is so hot to go to places such as one of the reservoir beaches at Cherry Creek or Chatfield or wherever else.

 

I'm certain most of you will be able to understand the level of work involved in organizing something like this. Having arranged in excess of 500 events over the years before I went blind I have a lot of experience in event organization, and as a blind person, I have a lot of understanding of the fears and hesitations blind people may have related to doing something like this. As such, I would only look to do events in a very organized manner and would even need cited individuals to volunteer to assist. Transport is another option. We got to consider, and they are very many options related to this some of which will require much thought and will most likely also need everybody to input towards the cost of the Transport.

 

So, before I do any form of moving forward, I need everybody who has any interest to respond to this email. In the response, please give me your thoughts, questions, hesitation, or fear, factor, excitement for the event or whatever else it is you may be feeling in relation to doing something like this. Once I get enough input from people, I will either move forward or put it to sleep.

I am creating a deadline for responses as most people tend to read stuff and then forget about it and when the time comes, they wonder why they were not invited or did not receive any information. Think about that. Therefore, the deadline is August 5 to respond by 5 PM mountain time. I repeat the deadline for responses is August 5 by 5 PM.

 

Has mentioned earlier please respond with questions, thoughts, suggestions for locations and anything else that is pertinent.
