*Speaker Spotlight: Curtis and Peggy Chong*
This couple is a powerhouse of determination, advocacy and disability
pride!  Peggy Chong, also known as the "Blind History Lady" is an author
and speaker celebrating the many accomplishments of people through history
who also happen to have been blind or visually impaired.  Curtis has spent
decades working in information technology using, teaching and advocating
for assistive technologies on every level of business and government.  They
are both active in the National Federation of the Blind of Colorado.

*Curtis Chong* has spent more than four decades advocating for accessible
information technology beginning with his work at American Express
Financial Services providing technical support, as Director of Technology
for the National Federation of the Blind, then as Director of Field
Operations for Iowa Department of the Blind and as an assistive technology
expert for the New Mexico Commission for the Blind.  He has also served on
multiple committees of the United States Access Board helping to develop
standards. Today he continues his work volunteering through the NFB of
Colorado and the Colorado Governor’s Technology Access Advisory Board,
advocating for changes to voting, prescription labeling, state agency
technologies.

*Peggy Chong* is a public speaker and author.  She wrote a history column
for Dialogue Magazine, publishes a monthly email newsletter and in 2016
launched "The Blind History Lady" project. She has published more than a
dozen books about “blind ancestors” who quietly made a difference in the
lives of the blind men and women of today. Peggy also volunteers on
advocacy efforts through the NFB of Colorado and has been involved in a
wide variety of other community organizations throughout the years.
