Whoops, it would help if you knew when to sign on.

The meeting is at 6:00!

I'm losing my marbles.

Thanks, y'all!

Subject: Reminder: Come One, Come All RTD Riders to Tonight's RTD Planning
Meeting

Hi everyone,

Well, here we are, the Thursday afternoon before next Wednesday's pivotal
RTD Board meeting, and RTD management has yet to put out the agenda packet
so we can get an idea of exactly what the Board is going to vote on at that
meeting.

Further, now there's a Board Study Session scheduled for 3 pm that day. Is
management actually going to wait until then to make their presentation
public? Your guess is as good as mine, but this little study session
certainly implies that that's a possibility.

Meantime, we still need to plan our response as if they're going to propose
what they proposed back in April.

So, I think it's still worth getting together to plan our public comment.

If you have any questions on how the process works, this is your best time
to ask them.

Public Comment Warning:

Someone reminded me yesterday that back in March, the RTD Board voted to
limit public comment to one hour. That's a travesty, and it serves to show
that the Board knows they're about to make some profoundly unpopular
decisions.

So, this will require some coordination with the other local disability
rights groups, and I'll be working on that next week.

Even though it's frustrating beyond belief to be kept in the dark until the
last minute regarding a proposal of such magnitude, we have three main
points we can focus on regardless of the proposal.

*	Use the $227 million unrestricted reserve as a bridge;
*	Require an assessment of how any proposal will affect paratransit;
*	And don't vote for something that you know is going to hamstring you
later this year when you actually vote to cut service.

Let's Chat:

Come one, come all RTD riders, and let's strategize what public comment is
going to give us the biggest bang for our buck.

I know our allies in the Denver disability rights movement monitor this
list. You're invited! Please, come and chat with us.
