"Canes, Tails, & Trails" Fundraising Walk Set for May 30 at Cherry Creek Reservoir
Aurora, CO - May 30, 2026 - Community members, outdoor enthusiasts, and animal lovers are invited to participate in "Canes, Tails, & Trails," a unique fundraising walk hosted by Aftersight and Foresight Adventure Guides for the Blind on Saturday, May 30 at 9:00 AM at Cherry Creek Reservoir in Cherry Creek State Park.
This inclusive, family-friendly event brings together individuals of all abilities-along with their canine companions-for a morning of connection, movement, and purpose. Designed to promote accessibility, adventure, and community engagement, "Canes, Tails, & Trails" supports both organizations' shared mission to empower individuals with vision loss through innovative programs and outdoor experiences.
Held at the scenic Cherry Creek State Park Dixon Grove Picnic Shelter located at 4201 S. Parker Road in Aurora, the event offers participants access to miles of multi-use trails and a welcoming natural environment ideal for walkers, hikers, and dog lovers alike. The 5-mile designated route will wind through meadows, along the water, and beneath the trees.
Participants can register as individuals or teams, fundraise to support Aftersight and Foresight Adventure Guides for the Blind, and enjoy a meaningful day outdoors. The event encourages the use of mobility aids such as audio cues, tethers, and canes while celebrating the companionship of guide dogs and pets on leashes, symbolizing independence and inclusion.
