Subject: [Colorado-talk] The Latest 'CS Beep Baseball' Update: Our 2nd
Hello Friends,

Just sharing a quick update on Beep Baseball In Colorado Springs...

Today a handful of players and volunteers came down from the Colorado Storm (Denver) beep baseball team to help some of us tryout the game here in the Springs. Unfortunately, we only had 3 besides myself show up for some Beep Baseball. Four, actually -- but one will more likely end up being our team sponsor, not a player.

Another guy simply couldn't make it today -- but I know he would have if he could have. One of the 3, I'm not sure how seriously she's truly into it yet. Some others said they'd be there & didn't show. But 2 out of the 3, + me, seem serious enough to travel up to Denver to practice and play with the Colorado Storm if we have to, now that we know that is an option.

Good news is that we've now got a team name for when we get a team (Colorado Springs Falcons), and we may have a sponsor to help fund a startup team, once we find a few more serious players (it's almost like a catch-22).

If you know of anyone in Colorado Springs who is blind, or, 'low vision,' please tell them to contact me if they seem interested in getting some exercise, gaining new friends -- and getting off their duffs once in a while!

Actually, if I'm remembering correctly, on a team of 6 we need at least 4 to be blind, but the other 2 are open spots. So if you know anyone (blind or sighted) who might like to be part of a fun team effort AND help more blind people get into the great outdoors -- please send them my way. Every team needs a few sighted volunteers as pitchers, catchers, or spotters as well... and anyone is always welcome to come out & cheer us on from the sidelines, too!

Please forward this message to anyone you think may be interested. ;-)

Thanks, and, Strive On!
