Thanks to our sponsors, Reps. mary Young and Junie Joseph and Sen. Steve Fenberg. Also, Jack Johnson, an attorney with Disability Law Colorado, helped shepherd this bill through. Now the state pharmacy board will work on the rules for implementing and complying with the bill. That can often prove to be more work than getting a bill passed. So, stay tuned, but also know that this bill will take effect July 1, 2025 and you will be able to request accessible labels for your prescriptions when you go to your local pharmacy.

I was out of town and only in touch by email, sometimes phone, fo r the month of March because of my brother's illness. Things get rescheduled and bumped around, but you should all know that Curtis and Jessica tracked and testified on our bills and made sure they kept moving.

And now, on to our next jobs!

Dan

--

Dan Burke

National Federation of the Blind of Colorado Legislative Co-chair

"Blindness is not what holds you back.
