Some emails sent out through Colorado-Talk come out as completely or partially garbled.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif'>The problem seems to be most apparent when emails are formatted as plain text as opposed to HTML. Unfortunately, what this means for iPhone/iPad users is that any emails you send out through Colorado-Talk will be partially or completely garbled because the native Mail program in iOS or iPad OS does not enable you to change the format of your outgoing message to HTML.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif'>If you are sending email using Microsoft Outlook, however, you can ensure that the format is HTML instead of plain text.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman",serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal>First, to determine whether the message is plain text or HTML, simply ask your screen reader to read the title of the window. Both JAWS and NVDA do this with the INSERT+T command. The screen reader will speak the subject of the open message, and at the end, tell you whether the message is plain text or HTML.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Now, when replying or forwarding, invoke the reply or forward function first. Then, check the format with the INSERT+T command. If the format is plain text, do the following to convert this to HTML.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in;text-indent:-.5in'>1. Press ALT+Q.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in;text-indent:-.5in'>2. Type the string html.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in;text-indent:-.5in'>3. Arrow down to where your screen reader should say, "Format as HTML."<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in;text-indent:-.5in'>4.
