This is unfortunate, because it would have given us an idea of what the Board is thinking prior to the discussion with the full Board coming up next Wednesday.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>One thing Deborah Johnson did say, though, is that their contracts with the various taxi and rideshare companies expire at the end of the year, and they need some clarity in order to put out their proposal to these companies, even if they just want to renew the current contracts.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>This tells me that the Board is going to be compelled to make a decision on this on Wednesday night.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>So, I thought we might want to have a Zoom meeting to figure out where we stand on this and coordinate our public comment for next Wednesday\u2019s meeting. Here are the current recommendations as stated a couple weeks ago by Nate Trela:<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal>Both plans:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>- Cut subsidy from $25 to $20 on each ride<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>- Cut service area and hours to match the core Access a Ride program<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>They are going to ask the board to endorse one of two options for fares and ride limits.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Option 1: 50 trips a month with a $6.50 fare ($3.25 if you qualify for lower fares)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Option 2: 60 rides with fares in tiers. First 30 rides at $4.50, rides 31-50 at $5.50 and rides 51 to 60 at $6.50 (all with half-price fares for those who qualify).
