NFB of Colorado!<span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:115%;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14pt;line-height:115%">HB26-1043 is
scheduled to be heard at the state Capitol on Feb. 19 by the House Business
Affairs and labor Committee. This is the rideshare discrimination bill that
we\u2019ve been working on with Rep. Gretchen Rydin of Littleton.<span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:115%;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14pt;line-height:115%">HB26-1043,
Transportation Network Company Discriminatory Practices will require Uber and
Lyft to put an easily located and identifiable<span>
</span>reporting button on their platforms<span>
</span>for riders who experience discrimination, remove the \u201cwritten report\u201d
requirement for riders, and increase the fines for the companies from $550 to
$5000. Also, the companies would have to report denials and complaints monthly
instead of annually and the Public Utilities Commission would publish these
statistics (without any identifying rider information) on its web site.<span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:115%;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif"><span style="font-size:14pt;line-height:115%">Obviously,
the NFB of Colorado will be coordinating testimony before this committee, but
for those of us who may not give testimony, we need to pack the hearing room on
Feb. 19! So, please mark your calendars if you can attend in any capacity.<span></span></span></p>
