HB26-1043 finally passed out of the House Appropriations Committee this morning
on a vote of 8-2.<span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:115%;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">It should be on the House floor on Monday for the second
reading, where it will be amended to eliminate any conflicts with Hop, Skip, Drive
programs that use rideshare. Those programs for school kids and people over 60
already have non-discrimination and reporting requirements.<span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:115%;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif"><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 8pt;line-height:115%;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">The third reading has to be at least a day later. The third reading
is the final reading in the House, and if it passes, it will go over to the
Senate for first reading and then assignment to a committee where we\u2019ll have
another hearing with testimony. After committee work in the Senate, it can go back
to the Senate floor for 2<sup>nd</sup> and 3<sup>rd</sup> readings. Passage on
the third reading means that it can go to the Governor to be signed into law.<span></span></p>
