Hello Peter,
Your best option would then be to organize those people. Then, do what you can to see that your concerns are met through acting on your own behalf. If you wait for other people to do for you what you are capable of doing yourself, then you are not communicating the severity of your situation and how committed you are to seeing it through.  In other words, no one can fight your battles but you. And if you're not going to fight them, no one else will join you.
