[Community-service] Seeking ideas for the communityservice group seminar at national convention

Darian, hope you ar thinking about my suggestion.NFB National day of
Service. First follow proper protocol of nfb. Exploration, post survey
on all list with suggestion and a few simple questions surrounding
community service, invitation to list and decide if there is enough
interest to take this on. Organize a small committee of individuals to
serve on planning committee for this 1 time event. Identify
objectives, why are we doing this and who benefits? Maybe others can
assist here! Below are a few of my thoughts.
1. Choose a national organization, introducing them the nfb
philosophy. Choose date and time, keeping it no more than a few hours
for maximum participation.
2. Brainstorn with them about how we can serve on a 1 day project.
Preparation should be minimal this will keep costs low. Planning
committee makes final decision about project.
3. Identify those with an interest and designate team leaders for
each city/affiliate/ chapter, make sure all participants are
registered and if organization requires volunteer training, schedule
in advance, or will they provide training for a team leader. Team
leader will share info with volunteer group.Team lead will be main
contact for affiliate, communicating details with national project
organizer.
4. Away we go! Maybe others on the list can chime in here! I'm sure
they want some input!
