[Community-service] Why did you join?

I joined the list because this is my first time ever hearing of the group. 
I have often wonder if there were any  group of other visually impaired 
people who have served as a Vista Americorp or have participated in 
community service.

 I’ve noticed some new names on the list and some names that have been 
around for a while but get pretty quiet sometimes.
 I’m just wondering what made you join the list?
 what did/do you  hoe to   gain from the other great people on this list?
