All:
I don’t disagree that discrimination isn’t “out there”. To say this simple statement, however is much like saying that there is oxygen around us.
Discrimination is faced by people who are of many different ethnic backgrounds, religious beliefs, sexual orientations and so-on.
Our purpose as members of the Federation is to change the minds and hearts of those who won’t let us live the lives we want. We do this not only for ourselves, but for every other blind person who has or is going to have the same issues. I suspect there are those on this list who have those concerns, but are not quite ready to speak up. I know that I do this for those people, and I hope that people such as Cindy and Ashley do the same. After all, whats the point of talking about what’s wrong if we don’t think up a saoutio solution to fix it?
