[Community-service] Community-Service Digest, Vol 81, Issue 10

Should I treat all volunteer opportunities like I would a job? I mean like a job?   Let us say for example that I applied on Friday for a job. By like Monday or Tuesday I would be emailing the employer following up on the status of that job. If so, then why?
