Are you a fierce competitor? Are you a person who likes setting goals and achieving them? Are you a person who loves serving the community and sharing these experiences with others? Then the NFB Community Service Awards Program is for you! This program will allow you to track your service hours, reflect on your service, and earn awards for achieving levels of service. In order to join the program, follow these 3 easy steps. 1: Once a month, write one brief description including the number of hours of service and what you did while serving. You may also include any additional information such as accommodations used or lessons learned. 2: Email your description to: serviceawards at nfbcommunityservice.org by the last day of each month. 3: View the community service website to view your progress and see how you compare to others.. More information soon on where the chart will be posted. The program will run from September through the end of June. Your hours will be totaled to determine which award you will receive. The awards are as follows: 60 to 79 Bronze, 80 to 99 Silver, and 100 or above Gold. Awards will either be sent to you via mail or presented during an awards ceremony at the NFB convention in July. Remember, service hours only count for direct service; attending meetings or lectures does not count. I look forward to see all the exciting service you will be doing this year! Thank you for all you do, Tara Abella; Service Awards Program Chair
