Jeanetta Price - President

Jeanetta Price is a long-term resident of Beaumont, Texas. Ms. Price is known for her high-spirit, diligence in serving, and love for others. Ms. Price is the In-School-Suspension Instructor at Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas. In this role, she addresses multiple challenges and disciplinary issues of the student population in addition to providing a safe and structured learning environment. Ms. Price is a graduate of Lamar University with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She humbly serves as president of the National Federation of the Blind Community Service Division and the Golden Triangle Chapter. As a public servant, she volunteers in array of community service projects with leadership roles such as coordinating the NFB Community Service Division annual service project 2018, and Chief Volunteer for Red Cross Disaster Relief during Hurricane Harvey that provided emergency shelter for Golden Triangle residents. Ms. Price also give back to the community as a motivational speaker for at risk youth in detention centers, public schools, churches, HIV/AIDS support groups, and community events. She also organized numerous service projects that include the following: Project Prom that helped 12 girls who could not afford prom attend; the “Buddy Program” in which students with intellectual disabilities partner with nondisabled students and participated in activities. Periodically, Price prepares and serves meals to the homeless in the community. In addition, Price visit local newly blind individuals and provides them with support, resources, and essential tools to promote confidence and independence. Ms. Price facilitates Life after Sight Seminars to help individuals adjust to vision loss. Last but not least, Price tutor adults for the General Education Development Test (GED).
