Service Suggestion- Regional Braille Challenge competitions

Each year the East Florida Braille Challenge is held in Orlando at the beginning of February. Since this is a single-day event, I am at the venue from 7-cj Am to 4-cj Pm when it ends. Volunteers are needed to sight guide, register and greet guests and participants, serve food, and conduct workshops. The contests in each region are conducted by Teacher's of the Visually Impaired. The scorekeepers who score the tests are braille transcribers who are certified through the Library of Congress. This is a great volunteer opportunity. Check with your local braille agency to see if they host this event.

Offer any specific skills you may have, such as copyediting, data entry, or even cooking, and you can be of great value to these organizations. Check out FoodPantries.org to search for one near you.
