[Community-Service] Blindness Philosophy Discussion Starter

Listers,

 As you know we are a discussion list of the National Federation of the Blind. 
 When we  refer to ourselves as “the organized blind” or “blind” we might, from time to time, find members and prospective members that may distance themselves from the term  “blind”  that we freely use.
  So, I ask this question to all who  participate both actively and passively on the list here:  How do you tend to identify yourself?  Do you see yourself as blind? Legally blind? Visually Impaired? Visually Handicapped? Low Vision? Something else?  What causes you to identify yourself with the term that you choose?
