Hello,

My name is Humberto and I am legally blind since birth. I currently live in Yakima, Washington and have just graduated from college last December. My main interests include technology, reading books, computer programming, games, and music as well as helping.

I have a certificate in Accessibility Studies from Central Washington University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in special education P-12 and IT, and am considering becoming either a teacher of the blind (TVI) or an assistive technology person / trainer/ teacher / instructor. Either that or, an accessibility consultant for someone.

I have done volunteer work, in case you would ask, and yes, I liked it much. I have played piano for my church's services weekly in the past. Last year during my Practicum experience, my cooperating teacher was very busy doing other things, getting her initial evaluations done for her students, and her schedule became very crazy. Her assistant Braillist did not know the Nemeth code of Braille, so I volunteered to help this teacher adapt / create math worksheets in Nemeth for our 5th grader's math assignments. It was a humbling experience.

I believe when there are positive thoughts involved, we can shape our outcomes. Thinking positively can trickle down to our things we need to see around us. Positive thoughts lead toward a positive attitude, which leads to positive actions, which then lead us toward a positive outcome.

So, anyways, that is about me. I hope you are having a great day today.

Sincerely,

Humberto
