Good morning fellow federationists,
As I am sure many of you know, The National Federation of the Blind annually awards 30 highly driven and talented blind students scholarships to help them pursue their educational goals.
Our scholarship program also offers tremendous mentorship and networking opportunities that help them gain the understanding that it is respectable to be blind and the tools to enhance their chances of success in academia and beyond.
I cannot be certain of when the scholarship committee first began, but it has helped many realize their dreams of success scholastically.
Many of our past winners are very much active in the federation, and some of them are members of our division and have at one time or another served on our board so you need not go far to find someone who can tell you how great the program is.
I do not doubt that we all know of someone who would benefit from the program (what student doesn't want free money?)
So, I hope you will join me in spreading the word about our scholarship program. If you are a student, I hope that you will apply.
