Good evening, My federation family:
I have always believed that the goal of the National Federation of the Blind Community Service Division is to positively change the misconceptions that society has of blind people when it comes to their ability to give back.
This thought process should make a lot of sense, because the National Federation of the Blind fundamentally believes in the abilities of blind people, and works to change the misconceptions of the blind in all aspects of society.
Once a week, I am going to share a federation speech, quote or some other piece of federation literature. I might share more than once a week here and there if I find something that really strikes me, but the idea is to share something weekly that we can discuss.
We can Agree, we can disagree, but so long as we consider the thing offered and how it applies to us as blind people, blind people who have, do or want to participate in community service.
I hope that this brings up thoughtful discussion and brings us closer as a group with a special interest in service and a family of action, and love for our blind brothers and sisters in the federation.
Yours in service to our movement,
Darian
