As a nine-year-old, Stefan learned about extreme poverty throughout<br> African countries, and was inspired to do something to address this issue. He sought<br>out to raise money to build a school for orphaned children in rural Kenya. Through<br>cookie sales, and proceeds from his self-written book "Stitch," Stefan raised $5,000<br>in order to fund his first school in Kenya. Since Stefan's journey began in 2006,<br>he has raised over $100,000 to finance the construction of two schools that are <br>serving 850 students, while the third school is being constructed this year.
