Between the Superstorm Sandy and the holidays, scammers are on the prowl, and the disabled and elderly are favorite targets. Last Tuesday, I received a call from a woman with a British accent who told me that I had been chosen to receive a grant from the government. I listened to what she had to say and then she asked me to confirm my information. She knew a lot about me as well as the fact that I was disabled. She wanted me to pay a small fee that would cover taxes and a charitable donation. When I didn't agree, I received sminiar calls from other people who are suspected of working together.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></div></DIV>

It was learned that the call was an international call. When legitimate government grants are given, up-front cash is not required. Please be wary of unsolicited calls from strangers!<o:p></o:p></SPAN></div></DIV>
