<DIV><B>Unfortunately Congress did not pass a continuing resolution in time to avert a government shutdown. Consequently we will be unable to deliver the full range of our services to the American public. There are three important things I would like you to know and pass along to your</B></DIV>

<DIV><B> * Social Security and Supplemental Security Income payments will continue uninterrupted with no change in payment dates.</B></DIV>
<DIV><B> * Social Security field offices will remain open with limited services, and hearings offices will remain open to conduct hearings.</B></DIV>
<DIV><B> * Social Security card centers will be closed.</B></DIV>
