<div>This is a reply to Kim and everyone else who read the below comment by Kim. Lucia had nothing to do with Kim's article not appearing in the newsletter -- what was that, almost a year and a half ago? I, as co-editor of The Federationist at the time, edited the article to both fit the style of the newsletter and for grammar and accuracy. Unfortunately, I was overruled and the article appeared as it also did in the Monitor. I resigned as the co-editor because of this issue. Having a degree in English and working in journalism over the years I believe qualified me to edit the article and print it as it should have been printed; but, the then-president felt I was not qualified and was only supposed to spell-check articles. (Kim, there was nothing sneaky about this, but you did not speak to me. Rather you went through the then-president and the other co-editor, who had nothing to do with my editing and producing the newsletter.) </div>

<div>So, please Kim, don't wrongly accuse Lucia, or anyone else for that matter, of doing something when you haven't investigated for yourself. I would bet that everyone thought your new venture in motivational speaking was a very positive direction for your life. I'm not so sure everyone feels that way now. </div>

<div>I would like also to say, in defense of Lucia and Diane, that they are not secretaries or administrative assistants for the members of NFB of Connecticut. They run the office and keep the state affiliate in remarkable condition, given today's economy. Before there was an office, members, including the presidents, did their own work, such as finding the phone numbers of local radio stations. That was before the internet, believe it or not! So maybe everyone needs to step back and think like Federationists. If you can't find the phone numbers of radio stations, how are you going to find a job, or live independently, or be a motivational speaker? </div>
