<dd>As you may know, Public Act 16-66 requires Governor Malloy, no later

than July 1, 2017, to designate a nonprofit entity to be Connecticutā€™s

Protection and Advocacy (P&A) system to replace the Office of

Protection and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities, which will be

abolished through Public Act 16-66 on July 1, 2017.Ā  Public Act

16-66 also requires the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) to issue a

Request for Information, no later than October 1, 2016, to solicit

information from nonprofit entities as to their capacity to be

Connecticutā€™s P&A system.<br>

<dd>To help in this process, OPM will hold a Public Hearing on Monday

July 25th</sup> at 10 A.M. in Room 1A at the Legislative Office

Building.Ā  OPM also welcomes written comments regarding this matter

and will be accepting comments through July 29, 2016.Ā  Attached is

a Notice for the Public Hearing and Request for Public Comment that

provides additional details.Ā  <br>
