I cannot attend due to recent surgery. You do not have to be a guide dog user to represent us. As you can see from President Riccobono’s note, he would like all states to be in attendance in San Francisco on October 15. Our affiliate will help with your expenses to fly out and back and stay at the hotel which today is the last day to get the block rate. I have put out emails regarding this as far back as July with no response. Let’s show everyone in the national Federation of the Blind that this is an issue that is just as important to Connecticut as the other New England states. Who will step up and take the trip to San Francisco to represent us? There is no more time to think about this. I need someone to go in my place. Who will it be? Please fill out the form sent by President Riccobono and let me know who will be going. Look up a flight, book your hotel room and let us know how much it will cost. <p class="MsoNormal">We have noted individuals from all but six of our Federation affiliates have filled out our interest form for our Rideshare Rally. It is time to lock in those commitments. This is another call for you to be sure that your affiliate is represented
by at least one person on October 15. It is also to call to your attention that our room block closes on Friday. We have already exceeded the number of rooms contracted for but the hotel is honoring our rate. They are not obligated to do so after Friday. Below
is the information that was in the President’s Notebook for your convenience. Let’s continue to push to get all 52 affiliates represented as we know that this issue is experienced everywhere throughout the Federation. Thank you for your leadership!<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Our Rideshare Rally to protest Uber and Lyft’s discriminatory treatment of blind passengers is going to take place on Tuesday, October 15, in front of both Uber and Lyft’s corporate
offices in San Francisco, California. The National Federation of the Blind has secured a headquarters hotel for the event, the Crowne Plaza San Francisco Airport, at a rate of $139 per night plus taxes and fees. If you would like to participate in the rally
