Good evening fellow Connecticutians!

 

                Happy October; and I hope you all are doing well.

This year, I guarantee that you will not want to miss our 44th annual State
Convention of the National Federation of the Blind of Connecticut! This
incredible weekend will be held from November 6-8 in New London, CT at the
Holiday Inn.

 

With Ever Lee Hairston as our national representative, our founding
Merchants Division meeting taking place, and a Legislative Leadership
Workshop being held by a joint effort between our affiliate and the National
Association of Blind Students,  this is a weekend that will never be
forgotten.

This year, we are having a Career Fair on Friday afternoon, a family-style
dinner Friday night, and lots of entertainment! Once the Convention adjourns
at noon on Sunday, our affiliate members and leaders are taking a trip to
Mistic Aquarium for a tour and lunch.

If all of this doesn't convince you enough, then maybe the countless food
options will. For our banquet dinner, we have the choice of prime rib,
veggie lasagna, or stuffed chicken!

 

When registering, please indicate your status (student, veteran, guide dog
user, etc.) in order for us to accommodate you best and for you to enjoy all
of the fabulous meetings planned!

If you are in need of a roommate, let us know  and we will do our best to
match you up. Room rates are $89, but book your room fast since reservations
are filling fast!
