Free Summer Meals For Kids 18 and Under Across Connecticut  

The United States Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), also known as the Summer Meals Program, is a federally funded, state-administered program that provides free, nutritious meals to kids during summer break.

Summer Meals meet federal nutrition guidelines and are composed of milk, fruits, vegetables, grains, and meat or another protein. Summer Meals are offered at over 400 sites around the state from June to late August, serving combinations of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Meals are free to any child age 18-and-under.

The Connecticut Department of Public Health is working hard to get Connecticut vaccinated! In partnership with local providers, the DPH Mobile Vaccination Team is hosting free, walk-up COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics in communities across Connecticut. 

The highly visible yellow Vaccination Vans, provided by the DPH and run by Griffin Health, can administer 100-125 shots per day in a six-hour window of time. The shots are available to all local residents, no appointment required. It is not necessary to have health insurance or a state-issued ID: all residents are welcome and no one will be turned away for lack of insurance or ID.

Operation Fuel is a private charitable program that may be able to provide cash assistance for utility expenses for households in Connecticut with incomes at or below 75% of the State Median Income guidelines who are in crisis. Operation Fuel partners with local government and community-based organizations throughout Connecticut to ensure that families in need have access to year-round energy assistance.

Operation Fuel intake sites are currently accepting applications for gas and electric utilities assistance.
