BESB is again attempting to hire a TVI in Norwalk and in Lytchfield. As well as an O&M instructor based out of its headquarters in Windsor. If you don’t meet the qualifications but would like to teach blind children, especially Braille, you can begin work while completing your TVI credentialing; you can even complete at least one university program that I know of mostly remotely (just 2 short trips for practicums). The deadline to apply for all of these positions is August 6.

I am reaching out to share exciting opportunities within the State of Connecticut Department of Aging and Disability Services (ADS) at the Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind (BESB). These positions support children and students with visual impairments across Connecticut.

Education Consultant 1 – Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
We are hiring for two separate TVI positions, one in Norwalk, CT and one in Litchfield, CT. 

These roles provide specialized instruction through the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC). They support students who are blind, have low vision, or have multiple impairments. We welcome certified TVIs as well as individuals who are currently enrolled in a Vision Studies program.

Key responsibilities include:

*	Teaching Braille and assistive technology
*	Adapting educational content
*	Collaborating with families, schools, and service providers
*	Providing statewide support in homes and schools
*	Preparing accessible materials such as Braille, large print, and audio
