style="FONT-SIZE: 16pt; FONT-FAMILY: arial">The State of Connecticut,
Department of Rehabilitation Services, Bureau of Education and Services for
the Blind will be conducting a public hearing on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from
4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the purpose of updating the State Plan that governs
the administration of the Vocational Rehabilitation Program for individuals
who are blind, and to update the Bureau’s policies pertaining to client
participation in higher education training. The hearing will be conducted at
<st1:address w:st="on"><st1:street w:st="on">184 Windsor Avenue</st1:street>,
<st1:city w:st="on">Windsor</st1:city>, <st1:state
w:st="on">CT.</st1:state></st1:address> The purpose of the hearing is to offer
the public, consumers, advocates, agencies and organizations an opportunity to
review and provide comments pertaining to the proposed State Plan annual
updates and the proposed policy updates. The proposed updates are attached to
this email notification and will be available for review at <A
href="http://www.ct.gov/besb" target=_blank>www.ct.gov/besb</A>, under the
Vocational Rehabilitation section after Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Print, Braille,
and electronic copies of these documents will also be available at the public
hearing, or may be requested in advance of the hearing by contacting the
Bureau at (860) 602-4008. Comments may be submitted in person or through
teleconference at the public hearing, or may be submitted via email to: <A
href="mailto:brian.sigman@ct.gov">brian.sigman@ct.gov</A>; mailed to Brian
Sigman, Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind, 184 Windsor Avenue,
Windsor, CT, 06095, or recorded onto voice mail at (860) 602-4008. To
participate in the public hearing through teleconference, please call (860)
602-4008 at least one business day prior to the public hearing to obtain the
call-in phone number and access code. All comments received prior to the close
of business on Monday, June 10, 2013 will be fully considered in the final
version of the State Plan annual updates and the policy updates.
