[Diabetes-talk] Fw: Move to bullpen a health issue for Morrow, Mariners

Hello Dar,
Why don't you try purchasing an inexpensive digital or cassette recorder?
You could record your doctor's visits, or, keep personal notes that would
then enable you to ask questions and keep track of information related to
your diabetes medications and overall care. Otherwise, you could be
jeopardizing your overall health and well-being by not managing your
diabetes care as you should.

I totally agree with Cheryl, you *must* be the one in control of your
diabetes care and medications. No one else can do that for you. I don't mean
to sound harsh, but Dar, you must make the best of the time you have with
anyone who is willing to assist you. The members on this list cannot do this
for you, the volunteers that assist you cannot do this for you and Humana
certainly cannot do this for you. It all begins with one person, you.

Perhaps, you should visit the Diabetes Action network web page at:
http://www.nfb.org/nfb/Diabetics.asp
While the Voice is no longer being produced, there are still back issues you
can look at to get ideas for helping you better manage your diabetes.

Dar, you can do it. It just has to start with you.

Good luck,

Dave

I saw my new doctor this last week.
  So that was good.
Now I have bottles of medicines I have to get someone to check out for me.
They are from Humana, where they say one medicine needs to be changed.
They don't wish to call the doctors office, that is up to me to do.
They asked me what I take, and I know brand names have changed.
I need to write all of this down.
I have until May to get this worked out.
So we get called every day.
Until I can get help I won't even open the bottles.
I don't like to feel I am not in control over this, but truly I am not.
Folks who help are doing it for free, so I have to go on their time, not
mine.
