[Diabetes-talk] Lantis in Pens

Hi, all.

Mixed insulins such as the 70/30 regular/nph concoctions require that if
they're used in an insulin pen, the pen must be rolled a few times and
tilted up and down a few times to make sure all the solids in the
mixture are in suspension before an injection. Moreover. Lily recommends
one do this even when using humalog in pens.

My question is this: since lantis is clear, if one dispenses it from a
pen such as the OptiClik or SoloStar, do these pens need to be
rolled/tilted before injection? The manufacturer of the OptiClik says
nothing in its literature about doing this.

T I A!
