Diane:

Like Cheryl, I wasn't going to comment further. However, it would appear
that we need some oil on the waters.

First, I do not deny Cheryl's anger; she had plenty of reason for it. I
experienced some of the same problems. In fact, I went to the CEO of the
company in question. There is no question but that there was a terrible
mistake made. However, it was rectified in my case.

My only reason for commenting as I did was that it appeared that Cheryl
reasoned that we (all of us diabetics) were entitled to know why DDI
stopped supplying Home Care Supply of America with Voice strips. I do
not believe DDI owes us an explanation, especially as several other
strip suppliers have been mentioned on this list and as Kelly Massaro of
DDI has offered to get strips and meters for those who need them.

My point was that we have had the information to solve the problem for
several weeks now and Cheryl herself said that she now had strips.
Cheryl was very proactive on her own behalf and I commend her for it. At
the same time, however, not everything in this modern world of ours goes
exactly as we planned or would like. Cheryl voted with her feet as she
should have. Advanced Diabetes Supply of CA is the loser and deserves
the loss. However, that firm is serving Dar well and now is serving me
well.

My point is that the problem has been solved and it serves no purpose to
rehash it or to ask DDI for information which it probably won't give us
nor should be expected to.

If Cheryl was offended, I apologize. However, let us all take the high
road. And Cheryl can do everyone a valuable service by helping us thru
the insurance maze which she knows better than do most of us.

There's room for everyone here.

(Kicking Mike's soap box over)
Mike, in Cheryl's defense...
She is out of strips and frantic.
I am so proud of her for being a good diabetic and worrying about having
the
strips to test her blood sugars as needed!
I have run low on strips many times, thinking they would be in the mail
soon, and have run into the same problem.
Also, when getting a new meter, I know you can't use the same strips for
every meter, but this can be an anxious time too, as my new Prodigy
voice
only came with 20 (I think)
She is a strong member of DAN and the NFB, and deserves the chance to be
heard, just like you,and just like me...EVERYONE does!
