[Diabetes-talk] Epitest, test, test!!

The Jacobs Family bandbjacobs at verizon.net

Good Morning Gang:

As for the lows, at first I feel a sudden high just before I begin the
plunge downward. As I am plunging downward, I first feel very tired. Then
I slide into lala land where I break out into a cold, gross dripping sweat.
Then it's like my body begins to go numb. First, my tongue, the back of my
throat, my lips and teeth, then the outside skin/flesh around my mouth and
even my nose. Sometimes, like when I was pregnant, if I was on an
up-and-down roller coaster, as I came to, even the roots of the very hair on
my head would tingle as if even they had fallen asleep. That was years ago
though. Haven't had an episode like that in, I'll bet nine years or so.
When I do come out of a reaction though, I have a horrible headache and I
feel like I'm in the deep-freeze for even as much as a couple hours
aftrword, depending on the severity of the reaction. Even the milder
reactions I've since had will bring on a headache, although not the
debilitating ones I used to have deuring my pregnancy before I lost the
baby. I can usually catch them coming on pretty quickly now. I can't
stress enough how vital testing is though. Test test test!! I guess
instead of an epitaph, people are going to get me an epi-test. That's just
how anal I am about that part. I guess I hate the reactions so much that I
guess some may feel I test uselessly--before anything happens. I guess
that's why I've never really liked the feeling of being drunk--can't control
it? Oh no!! Can't have that!! Oh no!! Not on your life!! Oh no!!! Some
have a fear of heights. I think my fear of losing control is just as bad.
Can't stand it!
