Good morning Vincent and all:
Thank you for posting this, and I would love to help in the fight, I will
not be in attendance this year in Dallas with all of you, but would love to
help in my being a fellow DAN member and the use of my knowledge as being a
Medical Insurance specialist.
I would like permission though to copy this e-mail and forward it to the NY
State Affiliate and to the Advanced Diabetic Solutions Rep here in NY. I do
not know Vincent if you are in touch with Tina Rockwell on this, since her
Reps here in NY told us of this issue, but not giving names of the insurance
companies. It is illegal under HIPAA to give out the names of the patients
involved without the permission, but the Durable Supply Companies can give
out the names of the insurance companies doing this, as well as the other
suppliers out there.
I believe that this is a resolution that all of us diabetic or not be
working on, this also has to be addressed to each state's insurance fund as
well. It is a governmental office that oversees the insurance companies in
each state.
