[Diabetes-talk] Solo V2 Announcement

I wish I could get a pump, but medicare is not allowing me to get it, I am not a normal type 1, all of my blood work shows out of range of the normal type 1 so when people who want to get the pump in the future, remember medicare has guide lines to get it.

  Kelly,

I knew that was a goal for Prodigy but had never heard that had been
reached. I'm glad you have achieved that standard single strip for both
  machines.

  Vincent,

The Prodigy products actually all use the same test strip now. So for those
who have an Auto code and Voice they can now purchase one strip and it works
  in both meters.

You are correct that most meters use a different strip however Prodigy has
two talking meters that utilize the same strip

  Tamera,

Concerning the strips, the Solo V2 requires its own strips as does each
meter. This is actually the case for every blood glucose meter out today,
"fully audible" and for the sighted. You would need to use the particular
  Solo V2 Test Strips.
With regards to the software to upload your test results, I was told this
was accessible from someone on the design group. Though you said download
the meter, I presumed you were referring to the software to upload your
results onto your computer and print for your doctor. I will follow-up on
the software for us, though I will be away for a number of days and may not
have access to test or see our Diabetes-Talk. I will respond ASAP.

I will continue to test and answer any questions through the Diabetes-Talk,
especially if you call ADS and may not understand or need further
explanation. I am sure they are ready to help though.

  Vinny,
I will try and call the number you have given. I didn't find what I was
looking for on the site but could be I need to spend more time there as
  well.
Do you know if when downloading the meter to a PC, is this totally
accessible? the last stats I had on the prodigy was that it was not, but
am looking at finding out more about that.
This is an important feature that might make a difference in someone's
  decision on a new meter.
Do you know if this meter uses a standard test strip used in other meters
made by the company, or like the prodigy voice in need of a specific strip,
as we found in the beginning with the prodigy voice, the autocode strips
were not interchangeable? The more the strip is used interchangeably with
other meters the company makes, I would think the cost and finding it would
  make it more available?

   Thanks,
   Tamera
