Bret Michaels surprised "American Idol" fans Wednesday night when he 
performed his classic Poison song, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" with Casey 
James.

The 47-year-old rock star, who has suffered life-threatening health problems 
this year, played guitar and sang in the ninth season's finale, which 
doubled as a send-off to outgoing judge Simon Cowell. On Sunday, Michaels 
won "Celebrity Apprentice," earning $250,000 for his selected charity, the 
American Diabetes Association. The singer suffered a near-fatal brain 
hemorrhage in April and was hospitalized again May 20 for a minor stroke, 
unrelated to the hemorrhage.
