I actually have easily findable lumps on the sides of my testing
fingers from beating up on them over the years. Lots of people have
headed me to various creams, lotions and potions that are supposed to
get rid of the callouses but they're still there. I keep
experimenting with different rotation systems to see what may be
friendliest to my fingers, trying to deal with those multiple pricks
when I don't get enough blood in the right place for a test. I keep
vowing to stick to my promise of three tries and then stop, but
sometimes I really really need to know and can end up having at it
for many attempts. By the time I stop and visit the hot water again,
boy the time does add up though. But I'll never do repeat sticks on
my index fingers, that's for sure.
Oh well, onward!
