[Diabetes-talk] Talking Blood Glucose Meters

Hey Gang:

Paul is absolutely correct. However, there's more. I don't have a whole
lot of details about these, but I do know they're not totally accessible.
Liberty currently distributes something called the "Focal Point, (I
believe). I, personally have not seen this meter, but haven't heard much
good about it. I also know there's something called the "Advocate." Again,
much of what I've heard about that is also hear-say and/or speculation as I
personally have not seen one of these either. I haven't heard much of
anything good about that either. I, too, use the "Prodigy Voice." As Paul
Jordan forewarn, however, if and when you ask for the "Prodigy Voice," Be
careful that this is really what you're getting as he is right. Although
the "Autocode" is a good meter in its right, it is NOT, (I repeat), N O T
fully accessible to a totally blind user.
So far as I know, I haven't heard of any software that is compatible with
any screen-reader software. That goes for any of them. Mr. Dan, if you
would like, you can email me offlist as I am a consultant for Prodigy. I'd
be most delighted to work with you if this is how you decide. I'll not be
offended or take it personally if you don't. Don't worry. I'm a little
bigger than that. . But, again, I'll leave that up to you. Have a great
day everyone!!!
