Hi Steve:
Having been Type I for 38 years I have had a lot of hands on experience in living with diabetes.
If you check before meals and two hours after eating you will find out if your bolus dose or oral Meds matched the food you ate.
It is also wise to test if ill, stressed, or before exercising.
There are some great books on living with diabetes that give lots more helpful information.
Have a great day!
Jerry

Hi All,
When is the best time to check your sugar? I heard around 3 to 5 years ago, that you take it 2 hours after you have eaten.
