[Diabetes-talk] medicare?

Yup! That's about the size of it, at least according to rumors coming my way. Pretty crappy logic, I should say! It's not a policy calculated to encourage good diabetic care. There are those who will say: "What do you expect of Obama-care" but such political rhetoric would be misplaced. IMO private insurers are becoming just as paternalistic. For years, I've argued with meter manufacturers, trying to get them to allow the user to delete specific records in the interest of maintaining the accuracy of their testing results when some tests are invalid. Yet said manufacturers are reluctant to allow this, not only because they fear users will fudge their results but also because insurers are beginning to insist upon strict accountability for strip usage in the face of strip-trading on eBay and Craig's List.

How diabetes care-givers can prattle on about the necessity for patients to manage their own care while allowing such nonsense is beyond my ken!
